There’s no such thing as moral victories in the NFL, but even still, the Washington Commanders have to feel pretty good about themselves after taking the Philadelphia Eagles into overtime on Sunday. Sophomore QB Sam Howell threw for 290 yards and a touchdown in the narrow 34-31 loss as Washington came up just short against the defending NFC champs.

The former Leeds defender Terry Cooper has died at the age of 77. The left-back, who won 20 caps for England, played 351 times for the club between 1964 and 1975, scoring 11 times.
